
Shomik L. Gibson has practiced family law predominantly since graduating from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2018, representing clients in all stages of the domestic law process, including litigation and negotiation.
Before attending law school, Shomik received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from Wake Forest University. During law school, she interned with Legal Aid of North Carolina where she participated in family law pro bono projects, representing victims of domestic violence in obtaining protective orders and assisting with representation of minor children.
Following graduation from Wake Forest University School of Law, Shomik clerked in the Unified Family Court of Delaware, where she assisted judges with preparation for family court proceedings and working on orders based on their rulings. She then returned to North Carolina and was a law clerk for the Honorable Judge N. Carlton Tilley in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina before beginning private practice as a family law attorney. She practiced with another firm for several years before joining Wake Family Law Group.
Shomik currently serves on the Wake County Bar Association as a committee co-chair and is a member of the Young Lawyers Division. She is also a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
