Carly G. Baker is a partner at Wake Family Law Group. She is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist and has been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in Family Law each year since 2020 and a Business North Carolina Legal Elite Honoree from 2024-2026. Carly has also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Meredith College Paralegal Program, where she taught family law.
Carly focuses her practice exclusively on family law matters in Wake County and surrounding counties. She has significant experience negotiating and litigating matters involving separation, divorce, child custody and support, alimony and post separation support, equitable distribution, domestic violence protective orders, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and separation agreements.
Carly is also certified as a Family Financial Mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. In addition to mediating private family law matters, she regularly volunteers as a mediator for Wake County Family Court.
Carly earned both her undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Although she calls Raleigh home, she can often be found 30 miles down the road cheering on the Tar Heels.
Carly has been actively involved in the Wake County Bar Association throughout her career. She is a Past President of the Young Lawyers’ Division, previously served on the WCBA Board of Directors, and currently serves on the Tenth Judicial District Grievance Committee, where she investigates allegations of attorney misconduct and helps promote professional and ethical standards within the local legal community. Carly also gives back through mentorship and service, including her involvement with the Campbell Law Connections Mentorship Program and UNC School of Law’s Young Alumni Leadership Council.
