
Melanie C. Phillips represents clients in all aspects of North Carolina family law litigation and negotiations. Melanie has practiced family law exclusively since 2012 and is licensed to practice in California and North Carolina.
Melanie received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2011. While in law school, Melanie was admitted to the Child Advocacy Law Clinic, where she represented children and parents in abuse and neglect cases. She also participated in the Campbell Moot Court Competition and interned for the California Attorney General’s Office and the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office (child protection and family services division). Prior to law school, Melanie received her B.A., cum laude, in English from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Melanie was admitted to the California State Bar in 2011 and the North Carolina State Bar in 2014. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake County Bar Association. Melanie was selected for inclusion as a “Rising Star” in family law in 2021 by the publication North Carolina Super Lawyers.
