Misty Hardison is a family law attorney with more than two decades of experience representing clients in family law matters. She began her legal career in Wilson, North Carolina, and has since practiced in Charlotte, New York City, and now Raleigh.
Misty’s professional background is uniquely diverse. Early in her career, she worked as a litigator in both District and Superior Court. After practicing family law in New York City, she transitioned into the corporate sector as a sales account manager with Iron Mountain, where she worked with large law firms on document storage and data protection solutions. This experience provided her with a valuable perspective on both the practice and business sides of the legal profession.
Misty earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law. While at Campbell, she was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and was a semi-finalist in the Client Counseling Competition. She has also served as a guest speaker for the Women’s Commission of Charlotte and is a Certified Parenting Coordinator.
Misty is deeply committed to supporting families and children. She has authored a children’s book about grief and, more recently, a children’s book focused on helping children navigate divorce.
Misty and her cousin, fellow Wake Family Law Group attorney Lindsay Willis, were raised in a family with a long history of accomplished women and public service. Their grandmother was among the early generations of women to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Misty’s aunt was one of the first women elected to serve in the North Carolina General Assembly. That family history has been a meaningful source of inspiration and pride for both Misty and Lindsay throughout their careers.
Outside of her practice, Misty enjoys spending time with her husband and their two sons, cheering on the Tar Heels, and visiting the beach.
